Bess Newton
Bess is a consummate professional and coach who empowers a diversity of people to be the best version of themselves across many environments and situations. She has management skills that transition from the boardroom to the world of parenting, and Bess has a way of conveying the work that needs to be done in a positive and productive manner.
Bess trusts the people that she works with to do their best, and she both verifies and troubleshoots this with skilled mediation and conflict resolution abilities.
She has a rich and varied background in the non-profit world, which brings a wisdom to her work and interactions with others. From traditional non-profits such as the Girl Scouts, to raising funds for legal aid work, and working as the Executive Director for an organization that benefits young people in foster care, Bess has a passion for humanity and a strong sense of social justice. She is very proud of her volunteer efforts to advance the work of marriage equality, and after adopting their children from foster care--advocating for these children who need strong voices of support and understanding.
Bess holds a bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
Carrie Myers
Carrie offers over 20 years of experience in programming and fundraising for large nonprofit organizations. She has a deep understanding of the philanthropic community, experience in cultivating donor support that increases giving from individuals, managing large teams over a geographic area, and developing strategic plans that meet the needs of an organization.
She has worked in youth development, outdoor program and conservation throughout her career. Her strong desire to leave a space better than she has found it is what has driven her in her career to achieve such success.
Carrie has worked to develop systems to bridge gaps between the raising of funds to the deliverable and stated outcomes of programs; this includes community level programs throughout the eastern seaboard. She has spearheaded organization-wide Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) assessments that provide evaluation from the Board of Directors, administrative staff, and field staff in order to implement a comprehensive JEDI plan for the organization .
Carrie holds a bachelors degree in Sports Medicine from Mount Union College and a Masters in Education from The University of Toledo.
